Coldur-A Blacksmith Wins Tonypandy Cup

A renowned blacksmith has been awarded the prestigious Tonypandy Cup by the Worshipful Company of Blacksmiths for a staircase handrail designed using Coldur-A® from Columbia Metals.

Andy Hopper AWCB, a blacksmith based in Poole, Dorset, won the award for his design of a bronze and stainless steel staircase handrail for a Georgian property with a modern interior. Coldur-A® was selected for its outstanding forging properties and attractive old gold colouration.

The work, named The River Flows, was commissioned in 2009 and completed in 2011. Andy won the Tonypandy Cup for his design in 2014 to join the ranks of other illustrious winners of the prize.

Columbia Metals is delighted to congratulate Andy on his achievement and is proud to have supplied this unique alloy for the project.

Coldur-A® is stocked in sheet form and in round bar from 1/4″ to 2″ diameter.
