Columbia Metals has joined the Motorsport Industry Association (MIA), the world’s leading trade association for the motorsport, high performance engineering, services and tuning sectors. The membership reinforces the company’s leading position as a supplier of specialist copper alloys to the motorsport industry and opens up further opportunities domestically and internationally.
The MIA was established in 1994 and brings together over 250 members globally transacting more than £5 billion of motorsport business. The organisation is headquartered in Warwickshire, adjacent to the so-called Motorsport Valley running between Oxfordshire and Northamptonshire.
Columbia Metals is already heavily involved in the motorsport industry through the supply of Colisbro® and Trojan, copper nickel silicon alloys that find application in valve guides, valve seats and bearing cages. They are widely specified for use in these components due to their combination of high strength, corrosion resistance, high thermal and electrical conductivity and excellent wear resistance.
Membership of the MIA will enable Columbia Metals to extend the reach of both Colisbro® and Trojan in the fast-moving motorsport industry worldwide, enabling participants to reach ever increasing standards of performance.
