Hastelloy C276

Hastelloy®* C276 is a wrought nickel-chromium-molybdenum-tungsten alloy which displays a remarkable corrosion resistance in a very wide range of processing environments. It displays excellent resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion, stress corrosion cracking and oxidising atmospheres up to 1040°C.

The high molybdenum content of Hastelloy®* C276 provides the alloy with its excellent resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion. Since the alloy's low carbon content means Hastelloy®* C276 is resistant to the formation of grain boundary precipitates in the heat-affected zone, Hastelloy C276 can maintain its unique corrosion resistance in the as-welded condition.

Hastelloy®* C276 is selected for resistance to wet chlorine gas, hypo-chlorites and many other aggressive chemicals. It also offers exceptional resistance to strong solutions of oxidising salts such as ferric and cupric chlorides.
