DTD498 is a copper-nickel-silicon alloy which demonstrates a combination of high mechanical strength and notch ductility whilst still possessing superior electrical and thermal conductivities.

Its other major features are exceptionally good bearing properties, very low magnetic permeability and resistance to corrosion and hydrogen embrittlement.
