Columbia Metals Achieves SC21 Bronze Award

11 July 2022

Columbia Metals has been recognised with the Bronze Performance Standard Award from the ADS, the trade organisation representing the aerospace, defence, security and space industries. This achievement is a culmination of Columbia Metals’ continuous efforts to raise quality and supply chain standards.

The Bronze Award ensures Columbia Metals can be considered as a preferred supplier by a number of key end users in the aerospace and defence industries. In order to meet the Bronze Award criteria, the company worked with an accredited consultant who carried out audits on operational processes, procedures and delivery and Key Performance Indicators. Following on from this assessment, Columbia Metals now has a Continuous and Sustainable Improvement Plan in place to ensure identified actions are effectively managed and improvements registered. This approach and associated tools reflect the exacting requirements of major aerospace and defence organisations worldwide.

SC21 is an improvement programme designed to accelerate the competitiveness of the aerospace and defence industry by raising the performance of its supply chains. It is administered by the ADS and endorsed by the Ministry of Defence and the major UK aerospace and defence companies.

Columbia Metals will formally receive the Bronze Award and certificate at the Farnborough International Airshow later this month.
