The Mayor of Bedford visited Columbia Metals’ new premises in Kempston today to carry out the official opening ceremony. The Mayor, Dave Hodgson, addressed the company’s employees to welcome them to the area before cutting a ceremonial blue ribbon. He spent time talking to all those present before being taken on a tour of the offices and warehouse.
Dave Hodgson was elected to office in October 2009 and is the second elected Mayor to represent the Liberal Democrats in the United Kingdom. During his visit, he expressed a keen interest in the wide range of industries served by Columbia Metals and extended a warm welcome to the company following their relocation to the county of Bedfordshire.
Columbia Metals began operating from the offices and 20,000sq ft warehouse facility in Bedfordshire in October 2017. Earlier this month, the relocation of the London offices and warehouse was completed and all previous Northampton and London operations are now carried out in Kempston. The Halifax sales office and warehouse continues to serve customers in the north of England and Scotland.
