Columbia Metals has just boosted its stocks of two popular grades of brass and aluminium silicon bronze. A significant delivery of CZ112 naval brass and DEF STAN 02-834 has increased the stocks of both these products, which are available for immediate delivery from the company’s central warehouse in Bedford.
CZ112, also available in the European spec CW712R, is referred to as a naval brass due to its corrosion resistance in seawater and other mildly aggressive environments. The material is stocked from 3/8″ to 4.1/2″ diameter, plus a selected range of flat bar and hexagon sizes.
DEF STAN 02-834 is a highly regarded marine defence alloy available to the defence standard DEF STAN 02-879 Annex D. The 2% silicon content enhances strength, corrosion resistance and impact strength compared with other grades of aluminium bronze. Columbia Metals stocks this alloy from 3/8″ to 6″ diameter and in hexagon from 13mm to 2.3/8″ A/F.
