S130

BS 2S130 is an austenitic grade of stainless steel stabilised with niobium to prevent carbide precipitation and inter-granular corrosion, especially in welded fabrications. It resists oxidation and scaling and is used up to 900°C for aerospace applications including aircraft exhaust manifolds and other elevated temperature applications.

The weldability of S130 is excellent, and with no post-weld heat treatment required it is particularly suitable for welded structures. Cold formability of the alloy is good.
